What is ShowBuild?
ShowBuild is a community board for people who make things. You submit a project, it appears on the board immediately, and other makers and early adopters can browse, upvote, and comment on it. There is no queue, no editorial review, and no launch day to schedule.
How it works
Signing in and submitting takes about a minute. You give a project name, a link, a one-line description, and a category. That is the whole form. The listing goes live on the board straight away and starts collecting upvotes from anyone who finds it useful.
Listings are ranked in two ways. The top view sorts by points, so the projects the community actually likes float to the surface. The new view sorts by recency, so anything submitted in the last day is easy to find. Both views are on the homepage, and every listing lives on its own page too.
Why makers use it
- Instant visibility. Your project is public the moment you submit it, rather than waiting on a moderation queue.
- A do-follow backlink. Qualifying listings carry a verified do-follow link back to your site, which is the part most directories either hide behind a paywall or quietly mark as nofollow.
- Feedback instead of applause. Comments come from other builders, so you tend to get questions about how something works rather than an empty “nice work”.
- A permanent home. A listing keeps working long after launch day has passed, because people search the board and the categories for tools.
What gets listed
Anything you have made and want people to see: a finished product, a work in progress, a free tool, a side project, or a template. The categories cover marketing, development, design, business, personal life, and projects that are for sale.
A listing is meant to be a real destination, so the link should point at the thing itself rather than a signup wall or a waitlist page.
Who it is for
ShowBuild is built for indie makers, solo founders, and small teams who would rather ship than wait. It is equally useful if you are a curious visitor: the board is a fast way to see what people are building right now, filtered by the kind of work you care about.
